Stock
Scientific name: Rupicapra rupicapra
The stock of chamois in Austria has slightly risen, despite the harsh living conditions which they are exposed day after day. The usual habitat of chamois is over tree line along the main alps, but they could live into forest parts too – in this case we call them “forest chamois”. On chamois, both male and female qualify as trophies!

Hunt
Chamois live in herds up to 80 pieces. Older bucks live separated during summer from femals and young ones. They are very sensitive on smell, not so much visual. We hunt on them mostly by stalking with necessary watching moments.
